But my experiences have shown me that you need to be more than just an expert in the subject you desire to teach- you need to be taught how to teach.  This is my number one problem with TFA; it takes smart and passionate people and throws them into full-time teaching with nothing more than a "crash course" summer program in teaching. I have watched friends ...</title><content type='html'>I totally agree about TFA. I have watched friends struggle under the weight of underpreparedness. Surely any first year teacher would struggle, but how much worse is it to have no education background and one summer of summer school under your belt (sometimes with the summer assignment not matching the school year assignment)??
